Getting to know Leadership
Briefly describe your responsibilities: I am the Oral Health Program Manager/Dental Hygienist.
What do you consider your highest responsibility, skill or career achievement so far?: Currently, working for Southeastern Idaho Public Health, I have a school-based sealant program where I travel
to several counties throughout SE Idaho and have impacted hundreds of children, providing dental screenings,
fluoride varnish, placing dental sealants, and lots of oral health education. I am so lucky I get to provide these
valuable services and help our children have happy, healthy smiles! I have also established many great
partnerships in my career, here are a few for example: Idaho Oral Health Alliance, Healthy Me is Cavity-Free
Collaborative, Head Start Health Services Advisory, ASTDD Head Start Dental Hygiene Liason for Idaho,
SE Idaho Homeless Stand Down, and ISU Department of Dental Hygiene Advisory Committee.
I strongly believe through partnerships in our community we can make big differences in people's lives!
Organizations/Activities/Community Involvement: Every year I organize a national and local sponsored event, Give Kids A Smile, this event provides free dental services to many uninsured and underinsured children in our area. I also help provide Oral cancer screenings at the Homeless Stand Down every year and I volunteer at The Pocatello Free Clinic, providing dental hygiene services to uninsured adults.
Why do you want to participate in, and what do you hope to gain from Leadership Pocatello-Chubbuck?:
I really look forward to gaining more partnerships in our area, and continuing my leadership journey with
new skills and projects.
